The technological strategy of Leshan Scana today is to give their technical personnel the opportunity for further education. Lately, technical personnel have been sent to Scana Stavanger for training in casting technology. In near future more technical personnel will be sent to different plants in the Scana Group for training in heat treatment and machining. In exchange, Leshan Scana has some Norwegian employees and an ongoing cooperation with Norwegian technical experts. Leshan Scana is seeking for technical partners outside of the Scana Group, both in China and abroad.

Furnaces and melting equipment
ITM-8P induction furnace from ABB (2 * 18tons), maximum melting capacity close to 50 tons. 8 tons, 10 tons and 12 tons arc furnaces with computerized control systems.

Pattern and molding equipment
φ900mm modern polisher for pattern, guaranteeing high pattern accuracy and a high quality finishing.
φ600mm and 900mm horizontal centrifugal casting machines, maximum dimension of φ1200mm*3600mm rolls. For sleeves the maximum dimension is φ1450mm
Resin sand moulding production line, sand mixing 20tonn pr. hour.

Heat treatment
The company has over 20 sets of heat treatment furnaces as follows:
New: 8000KW heat treatment bogie furnace with max. dimension of 8m x 3m x 2.5m
1200KW heat treatment bogie furnace with max. dimension of 8m x 2.5m x 2m
800KW heat treatment bogie furnace with max. dimension of 5m x 3.5m x 2.2m
450KW heat treatment bogie furnace with max. dimension of 6 x 2.5m x 2.2m

Machining equipment
C61160B*12m CNC lathe capable of turning max. dimension φ1600mm x 12000mm or 35tons work piece.
XK2420 numeral control milling & boring machine with table of 2000mm x 4000mm. Capable of machining 2500mm wide work piece.

Laboratory equipment
GVM-514 Shimadzu vacuum emission spectrograph with 0.0001 precision for chemical analysis.
NIKON microscope with 1000 magnifying times of microstructures.
SQW-A high temperature performance tester for measuring performance of the sand mould.
WEW-600 computer controlled hydraulic universal tester, automatic recording test results.
Eleven sets of equipment for ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, dye-penetrate inspection and radiographic inspection to guarantee high quality for of the products.

Infrared thermometer for determining melting temperature and heat treatment temperature easily and correctly.

Capacity
The company can produce up to 18 - 20,000 tons of different finished machined products annually, such as low alloy steel castings; carbon steel castings for general engineering purposes, common alloy steel castings, high and ultrahigh manganese steel castings as well as some special types of castings. Maximum weight for on cast item is 26 tons, while the maximum weight for rolls are 30 tons.
