Scana Materials Technology Centre (Scana MTC) was established on January 1, 2007.

Scana Materials Technology Centre has its origin in a well established metallurgical/materials technology laboratory at Scana Steel Stavanger AS. The laboratory will be further strengthened to increase the market efforts towards external customers.

The company adds strength to, and furthers growth of, the Scana Group´s activities within the oil & gas area. The company offers services within metallurgy, none destructive testing (NDT), materials sampling, welding technology, corrosion, damage investigations and general materials consultancy. The company is capable of undertaking testing and reclassification of materials for the offshore oil and gas industry and for other industries as well.
