The present version of the Scana Zamech propeller equipment are called P and PH types:
P - type propeller with the servomotor and the oil supply unit arranged in the shafting
PH - type propeller with an integrated servo motor located in the back part of the hub.
A well-distributed range of different hub sizes makes it possible to select an optimum hub for any given combination of power, revolutions and ice class. The different hub sizes are in principle geometrical similar and incorporate large servo piston diameter with low pressure and reaction forces and few components, while still maintaining short overall installation length.
The variety and flexibility of system solutions are numerous and all main configurations may be delivered in different versions. Depending on the servo systems you will find the following typical configurations:
P-RH (oil distribution box mounted on shaftline) The oil distribution box is fitted on the intermediate shaft. The servomotor is located in the rear part of the shaft and it is connected with the pitch setting mechanism in the propeller hub >> read
P-RKP (oil distribution box mounted on the gear) The oil distribution box is fitted on the front wall of the gearbox. The pitch changing servomotor bolted to the back end of the output shaft changes the position of the pitch changing mechanism in the propeller hub >> read
PH-R (oil distribution box is fitted on the intermediate shaft) The oil distribution box is fitted on the intermediate shaft. A set of two aligned pipes axially located in the propeller shaft distributes the servomotor oil from the oil distribution box to the pitch changing servomotor located in the propeller hub>> read
